SUCCESS STORIES

Saving Animals & Healing Hearts has many happy stories to tell. The following are just some of our animals that have found their forever home.

Milo

This ADORABLE piglet’s name is Milo! We were asked by Chula Vista Animal Care Center to help him. We work hand in hand with agencies like CVACC to ensure the safety of pigs like Milo. They agreed to neuter him and we went and picked him up as soon as he was awake from surgery. His behavior has improved so much since his neuter his foster is confident he’s ready to find his forever! Milo is aprox 4 months old, located in Murrieta, CA. He is neutered and has had lots of time to heal and adjust in the loving home of his foster family. Milo is a happy, healthy, curious boy that is ready to find his FORever home! He is crate trained and goes straight outside to potty when he’s let out! He’s also a big fan of belly rubs and snack time! ⁣ ⁣ If you are interested in adopting Milo, please fill out an adoption application or email us with any questions!

Sammy

On Mother’s Day of 2019 we were blessed with a miracle, Sammy was born!

Peanut

This little cutie is Peanut! She’s a lovable little piggie who is looking for her very own forever home! Peanut was one of 8 pigs (including Charlie) who found themselves in dire straights one day, red listed at the shelter. We don’t know anything about her past but her future is definitely bright. This little Nut enjoys the company of other nice pigs and is currently roomies with a big granny potbelly. They live in a secure outdoor area where Peanut likes to root, and a good mud puddle makes her happy! She’s a sucker for belly rubs, all you have to do is lightly touch her velvet underbelly and FLOP! Down she goes (no matter what’s underneath!). Little Miss Peanut has a super chill energy. Foster mom’s been working with her and even handling her feet too so she’ll be ready when a hoof trim is needed. Peanut’s a petite girl compared to her foster piglings, around 50 pounds or so but she’s not done growing yet! She would love to have other nice piggos in her forever home. She wants her future parents to know that she looooves her pig grains but thinks Brussel sprouts are super gross, and while she’ll eventually eat other fresh veggies and fruit if there’s nothing left to scrounge on, it’s really all about the grains. Peanut’s mellow vibe and curious personality will quickly snare your heart! Reach out to us today if you’d like to meet our special lil Nut!! She’s going to complete a very lucky family someday soon.

Bennie & Joon

BENNIE & JOON HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! Bennie and Joon were rescued out of the Ontario livestock option. They were emaciated, terrified, and their eyes were swollen shut with pus and blood running out of them. It took months of treatments cleaning out their eyes twice a day and treating them. The prognosis was not good per the vet. However; The outcome was better than expected. June was able to re-chain almost all of her site, with only a small ulcer ration in her right eye. Unfortunately, Benny lost his sight in his left die and has some loss in the right eye as well. Even though it was better than expected it’s still changed their lives forever. Mini alpacas are used as guardians in open fields. Because of Benny’s blindness, he can never be that kind of an alpaca. His dependence on June for site is evident. Because of their limitations, Benny and Joon are only adoptable under very special circumstances to a very special home. They require fly masks put on and take it off every day during fly season. They are hesitant to trust and prefer her not to be handled. There is a special person out there for them and until we find them they will stay here safe and sound.
