SUCCESS STORIES

Saving Animals & Healing Hearts has many happy stories to tell. The following are just some of our animals that have found their forever home.

Ramen

Ramen was found wandering the streets of Perris, CA where reportedly he had been seen for over a year on his own. Emaciated and weak we took him in and promptly named him Ramen because we knew taking on another life would mean we eat Top Ramen for a long time to come. Ramen had an incredible will to live and a stately air about him that shouted out that he was “someone special” at one time. Whatever his past, we fell head over heels in love with this old gentleman, rehabbing him into his gorgeous old self and found his forever home where he retired to live out his golden years well fed and well loved.

Lars (Laird)

It only takes one look at the transformation of this beautiful boy to be reassured of why we do what we do. Laird was being fed an unhealthy diet to keep him "mini". He was sad, sickly, and intact. We neutered him and found him a fantastic home and look at him now! Be still my heart, you hit the piggy lotto sweet boy!

Hamilton

Hamilton is approx 16 months old and neutered. He is used to being with a family, although has always lived outside. He is good with kids and does not seem to be bothered by the dogs that run around the ranch. He loves his mud puddles and a good belly rub. He has recently been housed next to another male pig and settled in nicely seeming to enjoy having a friend nearby.

Bella

BELLA HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Bella was an owner relinquishment. Initially purchased from a backyard breeder, she had not been handled as a piglet. The previous owner was new to pigs and in the transfer from crate to pen Bella got loose and was running around a large neighborhood for over a week. With no one she knew and in a strange place, she had no reason to trust a soul. Eventually she exhausted herself and allowed herself to be caught. Shortly thereafter her owner was evicted and locked from the property, so was unable to feed Bella. Finally, Bella found her way to SAHH and she is feeling much more secure in her surroundings and around humans. Nevertheless, Bella still had alot of fear and would not allow much touch - but that is changing. Bella had potential and needed her own person. She had gone through a lot so when she bonded with her human it was tight and that human will now be her forever friend.

Abe

In the first photo, Abe was approximately 5 months old, he is a Kune Kune pig. He was rescued from auction along with 4 other Kune Kunes. They battled severe pneumonia, and with the help from our vet, antibiotics, and round the clock care... all five beautiful Kunes are now strong and healthy! Abe was neutered and soon after he was adopted by a very special forever family! The same family that previously adopted two of his rescue Kune siblings, came back and also adopted Abe! The second photo is at their forever home, roaming on a beautiful huge green pasture that they get to enjoy every single day together! They are now named Johnny, June and Abe now goes by the name of Cash (the pig in black!)! This is what dreams are made of and why we fight so hard each and every day! I hope that one day all animals are respected and adored like these three!
